The deposit β how it works
A refundable security deposit of 500 KM (~β¬255) is required at pickup, paid in cash. This covers any damage to the vehicle during your rental. The deposit is returned in full on the day you return the car, provided there is no damage. If you prefer not to pay a deposit, our Super Casco insurance option eliminates it entirely and also covers damage to the vehicle itself.
Insurance β what is covered
Basic third-party liability (TPL) is included in every rental β this covers damage you cause to other people's vehicles or property. What is NOT automatically included: damage to your own rental vehicle. For full peace of mind, add Super Casco insurance which covers all damage to the vehicle and eliminates the 500 KM deposit. We recommend Super Casco for mountain driving or if you plan to drive in Croatia or Serbia.
Fuel policy
We use a full-to-full fuel policy. You receive the car with a full tank and return it with a full tank. If you return it without a full tank, we charge for the missing fuel at current pump prices plus a service fee. There is a petrol station on the way to the airport β easy to top up before returning. Petrol in Bosnia is significantly cheaper than in Austria or Germany.
Border crossings β Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro
You can take our rental cars to Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Slovenia and North Macedonia β just inform us at the time of booking. The Green Card (international insurance) is included for these countries at no extra cost. Bosnia is perfectly positioned for multi-country trips: Croatia's Dalmatian coast is about 200km from Tuzla, and Sarajevo is 130km away.
Tips for driving in Bosnia
Roads in Bosnia are generally in good condition. The roads between cities can be winding in mountain areas but are perfectly fine for standard cars. Speed limits: 50 km/h in towns, 80 km/h on regional roads. Alcohol limit is 0.0% β strict zero tolerance. Google Maps works perfectly throughout Bosnia. Petrol stations are plentiful and fuel is cheaper than in Western Europe.
